We visited the Philippines for mini concert and voluntary work from the last 12th to 15th August. The voluntary work took place in the Philippines Dail Community, and it was more abundant sharing by the activity of directors and junior board, in action for the second time after the establishment, in addition to the activity of the performers from Beautiful Mind.
The performers from Beautiful Mind gave a mini concert to about 200 children audiences visiting the Philippines Dail Community. The audience burst into applause as they saw the performers playing beautiful classical music, Korean Pansori, and the Philippines traditional folk song.
The children opened their eyes wide with surprise seeing the Haegeum, one of Korean traditional instrument, performance, which was done with Korean traditional clothes. The concert was an opportunity to introduce Korean culture to the local children, and communicate each other.
The members of junior board run off the experience of musical instruments and musical training program, designed by themselves, with around 80 children following last year. Although it was hard to communicate with each other by language, the pleasure of music was delivered to the local children by more fluent conducting than last year.
After the program, there was a contribution of recorder, melodeon, and harmonica. We hope this program would not be temporary but the children could enjoy the richness with music consistently.
This program was not only just giving a concert but also the opportunity to feel each country¡¯s culture through music and interact with each other by the experience of musical instruments. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the performers, volunteers, and the members of junior board, who have been to the far Philippines for sharing despite the scorching weather. ¡¡
